Forbin is creating websites you can take to the bank!

Congratulations to Forbin and Grundy National Bank in Grundy Center! GNB’s new website www.GNBbank.com , which was created by VGM Forbin, won a Gold Award in the 2010 Best of Iowa during the Iowa Bankers Association "Best of Iowa Breakfast", Friday May 6th.

Best of Iowa is the state-wide advertising and marketing competition for member banks of the Iowa Bankers Association. Forbin created GNB’s first website several years and ago and worked hand-in-hand with GNB to create the award winning new website in 2010.

The IBA sponsors the Best of Iowa competition to give deserved recognition to bank marketing professionals who are responsible for creating and executing innovative and successful marketing and advertising programs for their bank including websites.

Forbin worked very closely with GNB’s Amanda Grineski to create and hone the information, flavor and look of the site as well as including all of the programming elements needed for a bank.

Operations Manager

Administrative Assistant

Haley joined VGM in April of 2009. She worked as a Group Health Patient Care Coordinator for Homelink for one year before moving onto Forbin as the administrator assistant. With a bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Haley helps maintain Forbin’s image by interacting with customers over the phone, and directing them to the proper person who will fulfill their needs and wants. She also helps out with billing and is involved in data integration. In her free time she enjoys entertaining for friends and family and spending time with her husband and daughter.

Search Engine Optimization Specialist / Web Sales

Senior Web Designer

Laura joined the VGM Forbin team in early 2003 and graduated with a bachelor's degree in graphic communications from the University of Northern Iowa later that year. She is now Forbin's senior Web designer and oversees the design and maintenance of many Forbin's key client websites. Her award - winning designs are custom tailored for each of her clients, ensuring unique solutions for each client's individual needs. She takes great pride in her work, and in her ability to educate her clients on the advantages or disadvantages of site content. Her responsibilities include planning website flow, page design creation, HTML, CSS, the conversion of content from various sources, and thorough communication during the development stages of the project.

Web Designer

Korey Wilson joined forces with VGM Forbin on October 10, 2010 and has been a happy team member ever since. He keeps busy at Forbin by doing several tasks such as email templates, custom designs, Powerweb design and development, and he also dabbles in social networking capabilities for Forbin clients. He enjoys growing as an individual and as a whole with VGM Forbin as they continue on with their countless number of successful projects.

In his free time, Korey enjoys green tea, high fives, playing guitar, and writing music.

Web Designer

Elise joined VGM Forbin in 2008 after receiving her Bachelors of Science degree in animation. While creating or updating websites, Elise utilizes the latest technologies in her field. She extends a bit of her own flair in her work with various animated features - from flash elements to 3 - dimensional logos. In her spare time, Elise enjoys a quiet life: drawing, movies, playing with her dogs, and spending time with close friends. Recently, Elise's design was chosen from dozens of entries to serve as artwork for the billboards, poster, program cover and shirts from the 2008 Sturgis Falls Festival in Cedar Falls, IA - a most prestigious honor.

Programming Coordinator

John is a Web designer whose specialty lies in the design and structural framework of new and existing Web projects. He received his bachelor's degree in graphic design from the University of Northern Iowa and has expanded his skills into website development and programming. John thrives on creating dynamic website / interface designs for individual clients. He is proficient in extracting the essential elements necessary to generate a concise, finished product that meets project deadlines, and exceeds client expectations. John has been with VGM Forbin since July 2006.

Copywriter

Steven joined the Forbin team as a copywriter in May of 2009. Steven came to Forbin after 6 ½ in the automotive advertising industry and 2 years as an on-air disc jockey. With a degree in Social Work and over a decade of experience working with people with many physical and mental challenges, Steven has seen most of the products the HME industry has to offer and enjoys learning more about them and the people who sell them. Steven gets to work with a lot of different customers everyday and assist them with website changes, additions and improvements.

Customer Service / Technical Support

Glen joined Forbin in January 2000 as a computer service technician and technical support person for our local Internet customers. VGM Forbin has experienced explosive growth in the site development and business management industry and Glen's duties have expanded to include customer and technical support for our national and international clients. In his spare time, Glen enjoys the tasks involved with being the field trip coordinator for a local rock club and likes to hunt and dig for rocks, minerals, agates and fossils.

Manager of Network Sales

Mike came to Forbin in 2011 and is the Manager of Network Sales and Services. Mike founded and ran a local technical consulting company in the Cedar Valley area, and is charged with growing and managing Forbin’s network services division. He has earned two bachelor’s degrees in both psychology (ISU - ‘91) and computer science (UNI – ‘93). Mike, his wife Leana and two daughters live in Denver, Iowa. He claims he’s on a never ending quest for fitness and fun and enjoys golf, hunting, endurance sports and spending time on the Mississippi River.

Network Specialist

Bob came to Forbin in 2001 and is network specialist. Local businesses in the Cedar Valley area depend on Bob to take care of Internet safety and security issues that include Internet connections, data, e-mail and different software programs. An integral part of Bob's work is the management of network safeguards like full backups, updates to servers and workstations and protection from viruses and spyware. Bob is a Microsoft - certified systems engineer has a A+ certification from CompTIA. Bob and his wife, Deb, have three daughters. They live on an acreage that Bob calls his "sanctuary" and enjoys woodworking, hunting and fishing.
